The Return on Assessment Report helps educators evaluate how well benchmark assessments align with state assessments. By analyzing student proficiency across these assessments, educators can identify strengths and weaknesses, both at the student and institutional levels, and make informed instructional and curriculum decisions.

  • School Administrators: Use this report to pinpoint areas for student improvement and setting goals.
  • District Administrators: Assess and compare school performance at the district level.
  • Curriculum Coordinators: Identify curriculum strengths and weaknesses; adjust strategies.
  • Teachers: Tailor teaching methods based on detailed student performance data.
  • Assessment Coordinators: Ensure assessments align with learning objectives.

How to Access and Use the Report

  1. Log in to the ROI Dashboard: Ensure you have the necessary credentials to access the platform.
  2. Select Return on Assessment Report: Locate and select the Return on Assessment Report from menu of available reports. 

     

  3. Input Data Criteria:
    • Select the Benchmark Assessment: Choose the name of the benchmark assessment you wish to compare with the state assessment.
    • Select the Benchmark Timing: Choose whether the assessment is Pre/Mid/Post.
    • Select the State Assessment: Pick the corresponding state assessment that matches the subject area of the benchmark.
    • Select the Grade Level(s) and School(s): Pick the grade level(s) and school(s) you wish to compare. Select "Post" to view end-of-year state assessment data.
  4. Run the Report 

     

  5. View Report by Grade Level or Campus: Customize the report to display data by specific grades or campuses. 

     

  6. Analyze the Correlations:
    • Review the percentage of students proficient on both assessments.
    •  Compare correlations between proficient and non-proficient students on both the benchmark and state assessments
